Electric Radiator Oil

When choosing heating for your building it’s worth considering how electric radiator oil works. With this method electric radiator oil fills each unit and is heated up to give off warmth. Electric radiator oil is heated by an electric element inside each device, and the electric radiator oil then  circulates by convection inside the unit to give an even surface temperature.

A major benefit of electric radiator oil over other methods of using electricity to heat a room is that this type of sealed unit is less likely to cause a fire. Electric radiator oil is therefore considered one of the safer options if you need to add heating to an extra room, such as a loft extension, where fire hazards need to be taken into account.

Electric radiator oil takes longer to cool down than other electric appliances, so this means the heat stays in the room for longer. On the other hand, electric radiator oil takes longer to heat up than other more immediate methods of heating a room. As the electric radiator oil method of heating the device enables this system to act like traditional central heating, the effect on the room is better than could be achieved otherwise.  Electric radiator oil will give a device with a uniform surface heat that can warm the whole room, unlike devices that  heat up faster but aim the warmth in a more limited way.

People who want to heat an extension, such as a conservatory, will also often opt for electric radiator oil as an efficient way to make these additional rooms comfortable for themselves and their plants. Devices using electric radiator oil are also called oil-filled radiators. Rather than using electric radiator oil you could use a water-filled electric radiator which would heat but also cool faster.  The time for electric radiator oil to cool down compensates for the length of time it takes for electric radiator oil to heat up.

Devices using electric radiator oil can each have a timer and thermostat so that you can control the warmth in each room. This means that electric radiator oil in heaters gives you as efficient a method of warming your rooms as traditional central heating. The device with electric radiator oil can easily be incorporated into your building alongside more conventional central heating systems.

Electric radiator oil as a method of heating is considered 100% efficient. This means that for every 1kW of energy you put in you get 1kW of energy out. In this way electric radiator oil in heaters provides a more cost-effective and reliable heating method than you might think. As the electric radiator oil is completely encased, the electricity heats it but it has no direct contact with items in your room, so there isn’t the same risk of fire you would have with an electric heater. This would be important in attics and even in conservatories and other rooms if you have a lot of dry material that could ignite.
